Hi, I’m Erica
I believe in the quiet power of slowing down…
Through Therapeutic Yin Yoga and complementary practices, I help women feel grounded, nourished, and gently supported as they move through full, often demanding lives.
Yin is more than a physical practice. It invites a different way of being.
It offers a space to pause, breathe, and reconnect with your body while gently guiding you inward, away from the constant doing of everyday life.
How I found Yin…
My path into this work wasn’t linear. For much of my adult life, my approach to movement was fast-paced, mainly centered around running, strength training, and (teaching) group fitness classes.
Then during pregnancy, a back injury put me on bed rest for a few days and forced me to pause.
Out of necessity, I stepped away from my regular exercise routines, joined a pre-natal yoga group at my local studio, and began to explore softer, meditative styles of yoga.
After the birth of my son and recovering from an emergency C-section, I tried my first Gentle Yin class, and something clicked.
After so many years of go-go-go movement, this felt entirely different. This was not something to push through or perform, but something to receive.
Yin Yoga became my weekly ritual. For nearly five years, I returned to that gentle Monday night class again and again. It became a steady, grounding presence through a season of life that held both joy and challenge. When the class shifted online during COVID, I continued showing up to practice every Monday night.
Over time, I had a quiet knowing that when I returned to teaching movement, this was how I wanted to support women.
Because what I experienced in my own body and life, I now see in so many others:
Bodies that feel different than they used to and are asking for something gentler.
Lives that feel full, fast, and demanding.
A quiet desire to slow down, soften, and reconnect… but not always knowing where to begin.
How this became my work…
What began as a personal Yin practice eventually grew into teaching.
Though I had spent nearly two decades leading fitness classes, Yin showed me a different way to support women and re-energized me as a teacher.
I completed my 200-hour teacher training in Hatha Yoga, followed by specialized training in Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Mindfulness, and Yoga Nidra.
I began teaching Yin in the very studio where my own journey had taken root. A full-circle moment I’ll always carry with me.
In 2023, I opened my online studio, and Pressing Pause — my signature 6-week live, online Yin Yoga program for women — was born.
Since then, my work has expanded to include seasonal classes, workshops, private sessions, and guest teaching at retreats.
My intention…
Wherever we meet, my intention is the same:
To create a gentle, supportive space where you can pause, breathe, and reconnect.
Stay connected…
If this feels like your kind of space, I’d love to stay connected.
You’re welcome to sign up for Begin with Yin — a simple guide to starting or returning to your Yin Yoga journey at home.
From there, I’ll stay in touch with thoughtful notes, reflections, and invitations to practice live, online, together.
